What We Built

ByteCompress is a free file converter that works entirely in your browser. When you convert an image with ByteCompress, the file never leaves your device. No uploads, no server processing, and no third-party access to your data.

We created ByteCompress because most online converters require you to upload your files to a remote server. This meant trusting someone else with your images, waiting for uploads to finish, and hoping they would actually delete your data. We eliminated all of that.

How It Works

ByteCompress uses the HTML5 Canvas API, a technology built into every modern browser. When you drop a file into the converter, your browser reads the image, re-encodes it in the target format, and presents the result for download. The entire process completes in under 2 seconds on most devices.

Since everything works locally, ByteCompress continues to function even if you lose your internet connection after loading the page. No crashing servers, no queues to wait in, and no file size limits imposed by upload bandwidth.
